Objectives:

At the conclusion of this seminar, the participant should:

  1. Understand which laboratory tests should be used to make a diagnosis of HELLP syndrome and should understand the pitfalls of these tests.

  2. Understand the incidence of HELLP syndrome and which patients are at risk for developing HELLP.

  3. Understand the usual clinical presentation of the patient with HELLP syndrome and potential maternal and neonatal morbidities.

  4. Understand the management of a patient diagnosed with HELLP syndrome.
