Objectives
At the end of the presentation the participant should
Have an awareness of immigration and demographic issues in our "global village"
Be more aware of some major illnesses and American physician may encounter in caring for immigrants fro the developing (third) world.
Be aware of some major health issues that confront the developing world (accent on Africa)
Become aware of the dramatic effects on the health scene by relatively simple health promoting projects
Realize the world's major health issues (in numbers of victims) will be addressed and mastered primarily by promotive and preventive measures and not curative measures
Have some ideas how an American physician can contribute to the health care effort in the developing world.
