Objectives

• The participant will recognize the gynecologic and nongynecologic causes of chronic pelvic pain

• The participant will understand the underlying pathophysiology of interstitial cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and musculoskeletal causes of CPP and will be able to describe the symptoms, exam and diagnostic study findings, and treatment options for each

• The participant will be able to describe the medical and surgical options available for treating potential gynecologic causes of CPP and will be able to discuss the evidence of their effectiveness
