Objectives

At the conclusion of this seminar, the participant should:

• Understand the incidence of common autoimmune diseases in pregnancy and which patients are at risk for developing them.

• Understand the usual clinical presentation of the patient with an autoimmune disorder and the potential maternal and neonatal morbidities associated with the disease.

• Understand the management of a patient diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in pregnancy.
