Perinatal Resources, Inc. is A Not-For-Profit Medical Education Corporation Perinatal Resources, Inc. proudly sponsors continuing medical education for obstetricians and gynecologists. In 1976, several physicians approached Dr. Frederick Zuspan about starting a review/update course in high-risk obstetrics. Dr. Zuspan agreed that a post-graduate review would be beneficial for physicians who were practicing obstetrics and gynecology. Perinatal Seminars, a not-for-profit organization, was formed and received accreditation from the American Medical Association in 1978. In 1979, the name was changed to Perinatal Resources, Inc. The seven original board members, considered experts in their field of obstetrics and gynecology, were chairpersons of educational institutions located throughout the United States. Perinatal Resources, Inc. has evolved over the years. It started as a review/update course in high-risk obstetrics, until participants requested that more content in general obstetrics and gynecology be included. The activities have grown to include all of obstetrics, gynecology and its subspecialties. Today, Perinatal Resources, Inc. (PRI) is still governed by trustees, four of whom are the original trustees. PRI now sponsors two live post-graduate courses: The Columbus Comprehensive Review and the Annual Review of Obstetrics and Gynecology. These courses are designed to give up-to-date information to the practicing physician in obstetrics and gynecology and all of its subspecialties. It allows the ob/gyn physician to stay current in their field of training and to build on their foundation of medical knowledge to help improve patient care. This year marks the 33nd year for the Columbus Comprehensive Review. The Annual Review course in Florida is going on its 20th year. Perinatal Resources, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. |
